Homemade Bread

They say there is not much better than waking up to the smell of fresh bread being baked, I personally, I don't think they are wrong. The smell of the dough getting cooked brings so many good memories of grandmas house and summer time. Just the right stuff to get the morning started the right way. With this recipe you will be able to achieve just that! Whether it is to start your day with a black coffee (or whichever is your drink of choice), or in the afternoon as a light dinner before bed, this little number will do the trick for you. Here are the ingredients you will need to recreate this yummy bread:

- 1 kilo of all purpose flower

- 3 eggs room temperature

- 3 tbsp of yeast

- 2 cups of water

- 1 cup of luke warm milk

- 250g of butter room temperature

- Half a cheese shredded

- 3 tbsp of sugar

- 1 tbsp of salt

Let's start off by getting our first mix. In a big bowl you will mix 3 tbsp of sugar, 2 tbsp of yeast, 3 tbsp of flour and 1 cup of water luke warm and you'll mix all of these ingredients. Leave them in the bowl for 10 min (or until it starts to form bubbles) for them to rest and raise covered with a towel.

Once you see the bubbles, you will add the rest of the ingredients using your hands and mix using folding motions until all the ingredients are well blent in and the texture of the dough is not runny, not dry, with a little elasticity to it.

This is the texture you are trying to reach just before you start placing the bread to cook

Once you have the dough ready we are ready to place it in the trays that have been covered with a small layer of butter to avoid the bread sticking to the trays. Grab the dough with your fist and squeeze until the dough comes out on top. That is the measure for your bread.

Make sure there is enough space in between each dough-ball so there is plenty space for the bread to grow. Send them to the oven at 350F for 40 minutes, or until you see the bread grab a golden-brown color. Whenever you check on them, do not open the oven door as this will make the bread flat. Just check on them using your oven light.

As my daughter would say "All done!" In matter of an hour you have freshly homemade bread. This recipe will give you around 30 small breads. You can keep them at room temperature for 1-2 days, but they will easily last a week if kept in the refrigerator.

My favorite way of eating them is (if they are fresh from the oven) just with some butter. If they have been baked before, I warm them up in the toaster, split them in half and make a sandwich with turkey breast and cheese. The crunchy gives it a "je-nais-sais-quois" thats just so yummy!

I hope you enjoyed this recipe as much as I enjoyed baking it and eating it. :) If you make it don't forget to send me your result to any of my social media. I LOVE seeing you guys trying my recipes. And if there is something you would like me to try for you, let me know. You guys know I aim to please. Bonne appetite!

With love;
